The Outsiders / CQ
(Vinyl LP – Music On Vinyl)
The album C.Q. was originally released in 1968 by the Dutch Nederbeat band The Outsiders, featuring Wally Tax (vocals), Ronnie Splinter (guitar), Leendert “Buzz” Busch (drums), and Frank Beek (bass guitar).
The Outsiders, hailing from Amsterdam, were a key figure in the Dutch Nederbeat movement—a local interpretation of beat music inspired by the British Invasion. Though the album C.Q. initially struggled commercially, it has since gained recognition as a psychedelic and garage rock masterpiece.
The Outsiders / Thinking About Today
(7″ Vinyl – Relax)
60’S DUTCH-BEAT GARAGE GEM!
Their third single, from 1966. “Thinking About Today” owes a lot to the punkier side of R&B and also has a lot of Bob Dylan inspiration and even some hints of the Velvet Underground. “Lying All The Time” is surely their most jangling 12-string guitar Byrds inspired number.
The Outsiders / Touch
(7″ Vinyl – Relax)
ANOTHER 60’S DUTCH BEAT GEM.
Their fifth single, from late 1966, with a furious Beat Punker that is one of their fans’ fave tracks, and the hypnotic “Ballad Of John B.” on the B-side, a lesser known song with a frantic harmonica. A real must for any Beat and Garage fans with the original picture sleeve.
