Silence Records announces highly anticipated reissue of Träd, Gräs Och Stenar’s Legendary Self-Titled debut album – Swedish Psychedelic Pioneers’ Groundbreaking 1970 Masterpiece Returns with Exclusive Poster

** Quality LP edition with rare photos, an in-depth story, and a 30×60 cm poster ** Silence Records is proud to announce the upcoming reissue of Träd, Gräs Och Stenar’s seminal self-titled debut album, originally released in 1970. This highly anticipated repress of one of Sweden’s most influential psychedelic rock recordings will include an exclusive poster, making it an essential addition for collectors and fans of transcendental rock music. Träd, Gräs Och Stenar (Trees, Grass and Stones) emerged in 1969 from the ashes of pioneering Swedish experimental groups Pärson Sound, International Harvester, and Harvester. Led by visionary guitarist Bo Anders Persson, the band became legends of the Swedish underground scene, creating what critics have described as “the planet’s most hypnotic, moss-fragrant psychedelic trance rock.”

The debut album captures the band at a pivotal moment in Swedish rock history. Formed in 1969, the group consisted of Bo Anders Persson (guitar, vocals), Arne Ericsson (keyboards, cello), Torbjörn Abelli (bass) and Thomas Mera Gartz (drums, vocals), focusing on improvisational, minimalist and trance-oriented performances. Originally issued on the Decibel label in Sweden in 1970, this was their first of three albums, a definitely more “rockist” continuation of the post-minimalist experiments of the earlier groups, but still with that undefinable Swedish underground feeling.

Träd, Gräs Och Stenar were true pioneers of DIY culture and alternative music distribution. They were pioneers of DIY culture, they jammed with force and purpose for 40 minutes back when “legendary” SF groups or German kraut rock bands were still struggling to get out of the upper single digits with dignity; they traveled with organic food they grew themselves, and cooked for everyone they played to. Their influence on the Swedish progg movement and international psychedelic rock cannot be overstated. Music critics have consistently praised the band’s transcendental approach to rock music. They sound like Can jamming with Neil Young covering a late period Velvet Underground song and occupy a sonic spot on the Venn diagram where the Grateful Dead’s “Dark Star” meets Ornette Coleman, the Jesus & Mary Chain and Acid Mothers Temple. Jakob Sjöholm, the band’s youngest original member who continues their legacy today as Träden, reflects on the album’s enduring impact: “This record represents a moment when we were discovering what Swedish psychedelic rock could become. The improvisational spirit and connection to nature that defined this album continues to inspire musicians around the world.

This Silence Records reissue preserves the raw, unpolished aesthetic that made the original so compelling, while the included poster celebrates the visual culture surrounding the band’s legendary live performances.
