The recording captures the band’s raw no wave energy, where serrated guitars, jolting rhythms, and distinctive vocals collide. Despite the rough sonic aesthetic, bright, almost pop-leaning moments emerge; the group was still working with influences like the Velvet Underground, but was already forging new, wiry forms from them. Vocally, the set shifts between the intense screams of Sumner Crane and Connie Burg, joined by Mark Cunningham on bass and Nancy Arlen on drums, whose relentless playing drives the set forward.
